Vocabulary
This exercise was to help enhance Sang's vocabulary. I noticed that when Sang was going through sight words with the class, he would struggle with finding the right one. I started this activity by having the students in my small group go around and read a sight word off of a card I was holding. They did pretty well with this. After that, we practiced their blending words as a whole group and then indivdually. Sang would struggle finding the final word after blending. I would tell him to try blending using the "cheesy" blend method, almost singing the word. This seemed to make it easier for him to identify the words. I would like to continue using this exercise, not only for Sang, but for the whole class, because they are all struggling with vocabulary and sight words. This way, they learn them through seeing the word and hearing it frequently.
